   Download the latest version

   Open the latest release page and download the .tar.gz package. The file name follows the version (e.g.: nextool-6.2.1.tar.gz). That is why the link below always points to the most recent one, whichever it may be.

   This command finds the latest version and downloads the package automatically (requires curl):

   Extract it into the GLPI plugins folder

   Unpack the package inside the plugins/ folder of your GLPI installation (the most common path is /var/www/glpi/plugins):

   tar -xzf nextool-*.tar.gz -C /var/www/glpi/plugins/Copiar

   Not sure where GLPI is installed?

   The most common paths are /var/www/glpi, /var/www/html/glpi or /usr/share/glpi. To find the plugins folder automatically, run:

   sudo find / -type d -path '*glpi/plugins' 2>/dev/nullCopiar

   The result (e.g.: /var/www/glpi/plugins) is the path you use in the command above.

   Adjust file ownership

   GLPI requires the plugin files to belong to your web server user. Replace www-data with your server's user (on Debian/Ubuntu it is usually this one):

   sudo chown -R www-data:www-data /var/www/glpi/plugins/nextoolCopiar

   What is my web server user?

   It varies depending on the Linux distribution and the web server. The most common ones:

   When in doubt, this command shows which user the web server is actually running as:

   Enable it in GLPI

   Go to Setup › Plugins, find NexTool and click Install and then Enable. Done.

Run a single command (with sudo) on your GLPI server. The script finds the installation on its own, from any folder, and installs the base plugin in the most recent version.

What happens when you run it:

• Finds GLPI on its own. It searches the current folder, the most common paths and, if needed, does a quick search across the server. If there is more than one installation, it stops and asks which one to use. If GLPI runs in Docker, it detects the containers and shows the ready-to-run command to install inside the right one.
• Downloads and verifies. It fetches the most recent version from GitHub and checks the package's SHA256 checksum before installing. If the file does not match, it aborts.
• Installs safely. It backs up the previous version, extracts the files and adjusts ownership and permissions for the web server user.
• Finishes up. It reloads PHP when it is safe to do so. If anything goes wrong at any step, it stops right away, without leaving the installation half-done.

The script installs the base plugin. Afterwards, enable it through the GLPI interface at Setup › Plugins (which runs with the correct user) and enable the modules you want within the plugin itself.
